ST. PAUL, Minn. (KARE) - Listen up Charlie Brown and friends.

The Great Pumpkin was stationed outside the Xcel Energy Center Monday night to greet Minnesota Wild fans.

The mammoth pumpkin, named Wild Thing, weighs in at more than 700 pounds.

It was grown in Andover and took six months to get to that size so it's almost seems a shame to carve it up. But pumpkin carver Mike Rudolph doesn't think so.

"If you think about it, it's a big 700 pound chunk of fruit. How long is a big 700 pound chunk of fruit going to last if it just sits there? Might as well use it for something and turn it into a nice display," said Rudolph.

Wild Thing will be stationed outside of Gate 2, all lit up, with a fog machine too, making it a great photo opportunity for Wild fans.
