WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Yesterday it was Beyonce and later tonight, Justin Bieber.

The tickers you can win here form WUSA 9 are legit.  But, if you're searching for seats that are sold out on other sites, you can end up with counterfeit tickets.

The Federal Trade Commission says if you can't buy from a venue, here are some ways to protect yourself from a scammer's song and dance.

Never wire money to buy tickets

Research the seller before you fork over the money

Pay with protection, use credit cards or credible e-commerce sites

Examine your tickets, look at them to be sure they have a hologram or a layer of colored paper between the two sides

Check the seating chart of the venue to see if the tickets are really there
