WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- A new Society of Actuaries study finds that health insurers will pay nearly one-third more on claims under the Affordable Care Act.

The research organization came to the conclusion after it studied the law's effect on individual health policies.

The group does project that costs will actually decrease in some states, but the majority will see big increases.

The Obama administration challenged the design of the study, saying it does not give a full picture and ignores the law's cost reduction strategies.
