House to debate limits on NSA surveillance in US

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Should the NSA's ability to spy on U.S. citizens be limited Lawmakers will debate that question Tuesday during a hearing on Capitol Hill.

The House will consider changes to the defense funding bill that would limit NSA surveillance programs. A decision made late lMonday night will help House members add amendments to do that.

The NSA's secret data mining operations came to light weeks agao after Edward Snowden revealed the practice had been going on for sometime.
