CHESAPEAKE, Va. (AP) - Virginia state police say efforts are underway to recover the bodies of four Florida residents from the crash of a small plane in a remote section of a swamp.

Spokeswoman Corinne Geller says the victims' bodies will be removed from the crash site Saturday once a safe path is built so that vehicles can access the Great Dismal Swamp.

Authorities used a privately owned helicopter to locate the wreckage Friday afternoon. State police say the plane was traveling Thursday from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Hampton Roads Executive Airport.

State police say the victims were 61-year-old pilot Theodore Bradshaw of Fort Lauderdale; his 48-year-old wife, Mary Anne Bradshaw; and 64-year-old Charles Rodd and 58-year-old Diane Rodd, both of Palm Beach, Fla.
