MIDDLEBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County authorities say a woman from Texas died in a crash in Middleburg on Friday.
Sheriff's office authorities say 2004 Porsche SUV was traveling westbound on Route 50 near Briar Patch Lane near Aldie, Va., at 2:24 p.m. when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2013 Chrysler minivan occupied by six people.
Authorities tell us that 86-year-old Irene C. Ellisor of Huntsville, TX, who was sitting in the backseat and not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
The driver of the minivan remains in serious condition at Inova Fairfax Hospital, say authorities. A front seat passenger suffered serious injuries but has since been released from the hospital. Two other back row passengers were taken to Stone Springs Medical Center and a third backseat passenger was taken to the Cornwall Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital.
Authorities say all the people in the minivan were adult females from Texas.
The driver of the SUV was taken to Stone Springs Medical Center and then transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital. She has since been released, according to authorities.
Authorities tell us the case is pending review by the Office of Commonwealth's Attorney.
