Are mug shots on their way out?
A bill in New Jersey would make mug shots in the state confidential unless a suspect is convicted, the Asbury (N.J.) Park Press reports.
The New Jersey Press Association, which represents 20 news organizations in the state, including the Park Press, opposes the measure, saying it is "contrary to New Jersey's long-standing, strong public policy of open government."
