(WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police say no one will be charged after a truck hit a pedestrian bridge at the Westfield Wheaton Mall last Friday morning.

A gray Nissan Altima then attempted to drive through the debris and had to be towed due to damage to the vehicle. Officials say no one was injured in the incident.

Ken Buckner, the marketing director with Westfield Wheaton Mall, tells us that the bridge has not been repaired yet. Officials expect it to be closed for several weeks, says Buckner.

Bucker tells us that they are encouraging pedestrians to use the adjacent Metro parking garage ramp or stairs, the stairs next to JCPenney or other pedestrian routes in that area
