Manuel Deputy, charged with three counts of burglary first degree in Gaithersburg
GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- Gaithersburg police say they have arrested a man for three burglaries that occurred in August.
Eighteen-year-old Manuel Deputy was arrested a few weeks after a resident saw him in his home, say police. The attempted burglary happened in the 200 block of Park Avenue on Aug. 22 at 3 p.m., according to police. A resident came home and found a man in his home. When the man realized someone was there, he fled without any property, say police. Police tell us that the man was later stopped by officers who responded to the scene, and he was later positively identified as the burglar by the resident.
Police say their investigation of Deputy revealed he was involved in two other home burglaries that happened on Aug. 12 and another on Aug. 20.
According to police in a press release, "On August 12, 2013, at 5:08 p.m. and 5:38 p.m., officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department responded to the 200 block of Park Avenue and Lee Street for the report of two residential burglaries. In both incidents, an unknown suspect(s) entered the residences through unknown means and removed property. On August 20, 2013 at 8:08 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of Park Avenue. An unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through the front door and removed property."
Deputy was arrested on Sept. 11. He is charged with three counts of burglary first degree, say police. He was released on $15,000 bond.
