(WUSA9)--- The District celebrates its famous National Cherry Blossom Festival every year. This festival with its fun-filled events represents the coming spring season, community and the friendship between Japan and the United States.
The noon newscast welcomed Danielle Davis to discuss a singing competition in this year's festival.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is holding its first ever Sing into Spring Competition during the annual parade, which will be nationally syndicated. Festival officials are looking to find some of DC's most talented music artist and to showcase them to the public.
You can enter the competition by going on the Sing into Spring Official website and uploading your YouTube video entry. Twenty finalists will be selected for a live audition at the Hard Rock Café in January in order to win a chance to sing at the parade.
We encourage all artists to hurry up and upload their video entries because the deadline is quickly approaching on November 15. You can find more information on the festival's website or by watching the interview above.
