BALI, Indonesia (CBS) -- Actress turned beauty queen Megan Young was crowned Miss World 2013 on Saturday.
She beat off competition from 126 candidates from all over the world to take the crown for the Philippines.
Held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia, the crown was handed to Young by 2012 Miss World title holder, Wenxia Yu of China.
Young was born in the United States before moving to the Philippines aged 10.
She is currently studying digital film making and has been appearing on screen since the age of 15, starring in films and TV shows and working as a presenter.
Miss France was the runner-up and Miss Ghana took third place in the beauty contest.
