WASHINGTON (WUSA 9) -- A Metro passenger who was leaning against a wall at L'Enfant Plaza metro station early Sunday morning fell backwards onto light grates behind the wall, said WMATA spokesperson Philip Stewart.
Police officers at the station responded immediately and DC Fire and EMS rescued the man and transported him to a hospital.
He was treated for head and neck injuries and released later on Sunday.
Philips said this was the sixth person injured in a Metrorail Station since October in which intoxication was a main factor. One of the accidents resulted in fatal injuries.
