WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A DC Department of Transportation spokesperson says crews are putting in two temporary traffic circles in the area of 42nd St and Van Ness St NW. He expects the work to be done Tuesday afternoon, but did not know how long the circles will remain at that location.
The traffic circles are part of an ongoing traffic calming effort in the neighborhood, according to the spokesperson. The traffic calming effort stems from a survey that in part addressed "liveability" concerns for residents in the neighborhood, including homeowners, apartment dwellers and American University, says the spokesperson.
The spokesperson tells us the traffic calming study is expected to last for three months.
