STERLING, VA (WUSA)--Two men have been charged with second-degree murder in a Sterling, VA shooting that took the life of a 19-year-old man.
Loudoun County Sheriff's spokesperson Kraig Troxell says Guillermo A. Alvarado, 20, of Berryville, VA and Rasheed L. Nurse, 26, of Herndon, VA, are currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
Both were charged with Second Degree Murder, in Violation of Virginia State Code Section 18.32.
Detectives say the incident occurred after Alvarado and the victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, became involved in an argument at a residence on Tappahannock Place in the Lowes Island community of Sterling, VA.
Alvarado and the victim went outside where the victim allegedly became involved in an altercation with the two men. Nurse allegedly brandished a firearm and the victim suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
The three were all attending a house party on Tappahannock Place where the altercation ensued. The circumstances regarding the dispute that led to the shooting remain under investigation
The person who hosted the party tells WUSA9 that he was throwing a birthday party for his friend. He says the party was ending when gunfire erupted. Detectives say the 19 year-old was shot in the street around three Sunday morning as people were leaving. Detectives say the victim ran back to the house and collapsed in the backyard. He died at the hospital.
The two suspects are currently being processed at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Booking photos will be released when they become available.
