WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Four firefighters and a civilian were injured after a fire truck and another vehicle collided in Southeast DC on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a DC Fire and Rescue official, the accident happened at 53rd Street and Queen's Stroll Place in SE at 12:01 p.m. It appears the fire truck was returning from an earlier call when it was struck by the other vehicle, says the official. At this point it is unclear if the fire truck was stopped or moving.
We're told the fire truck was from Station 30 on 49th St NE.
The civilian was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the fire official. Three firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals. The fourth firefighter went to the fire and police clinic for treatment of minor injuries.
