GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police seized two weapons and arrested a man in connection to a carjacking early Monday morning.
Officers received a call at 6:28 a.m. to report the incident in the 200 block of Allen Road in Glen Burnie, Md. After locating the vehicle traveling in the area at a high rate of speed, officers followed the Chevy Tahoe until it crashed on an exit ramp of Route 695 West, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
One suspect, Devin Jahmal Evans, 33, of 120 Danbury Street, Washington, D.C., was taken into custody at the scene, police said. A second suspect fled on foot into a wooded area adjacent to the crash.
Officers located a loaded 9mm Hi Point Carbon rifle along with a machete in the vehicle, according to Anne Arundel County police.
An investigation into the identity of the second suspect is ongoing at this time. The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s, standing 5 feet 10 inches, weighing 200 pounds, wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and light-colored jeans.
