FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police now say alcohol and distracted driving may have been factors in a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Oct. 27.
A 21-year-old woman was struck in the area of Gambrill Road near Vogels way in Springfield, Va. around 7:30 p.m., according to Fairfax County police. She was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The vehicle fled the scene and did not stop to provide help, police said.
Fairfax officials asked for the public's help in identifying the vehicle in the crash. They say they have now identified and located the vehicle and driver. The name of the driver has not been released yet.
