WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA9)-- Legendary comedian Carol Burnett was honored Sunday night in Washington.
She received the 16th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The veteran comedian is most notable for her long running CBS skit comedy show the Carol Burnett Show.
Comedians and others celebrity gathered Sunday night for the event which was also a fundraiser at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
The broadcast presentation of the awards will air on PBS on November 24, 2013.
