GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police are still looking for the three men who assaulted an 87-year-old man and his 73-year-old girlfriend during a home invasion on Thursday morning in Glen Bernie.

At approximately 5:27 a.m., the victims told police that three people wearing masks forced their way into the home in the 500 block of McPherson Road. The people encountered the victims inside of the home and assaulted them, say police. The suspects then ransacked the home, took money and property, and fled from the home, according to police.

Police say the elderly man went across the street and contacted a neighbor, who called police.

The couple was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, say police. They have been released from the hospital.

Detectives believe the couple was targeted.

They ask anyone with information to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP or text "MCS" plus your message to CRIMES (274637). Callers remain anonymous. You may also be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Sunday, a good Samaritan donated a new television set to the couple. Police helped install it.
