WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The federal government shutdown is impacting D.C. location requests and permitting for films, according to The Office of Motion Picture and Television Development.

As you know, the shutdown has closed all public lands managed by the Interior Department, including national parks, national wildlife refuges, the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, and monuments and the memorials on the National Mall. MPTD officials says they can't process any film permit requests for the location "as they are not within our jurisdiction."  They say they also can't issue permits for areas that require federal cooperation such as Pennsylvania Ave.

Officials say that no major film productions have been denied at this time.
