WUSA9 News in Washington, DC is looking for an experienced on air Reporter/MMJ. The reporter will cover general assignment stories and be responsible for developing sources that lead to unique and original news stories.  The position requires strong knowledge of news events, and public affairs to include local, national and international venues. Of course, knowledge of the Washington, DC area is a plus. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of multimedia presentation and software including video editing and posting on the web as well as shoot, edit and produce original stories for air, the web, mobile as well other multimedia platforms. Working knowledge of the Edius editing system and ENPS is a plus.

We're looking for someone who can enterprise stories on a regular basis. We want a reporter who goes out on one story and comes back with four more. The candidate of our dreams will be fearless and always hungry for the lead story. We want someone who always wants the ball and knows how to run with it. If you're a risk taker, we want to talk with you.

The successful candidate will be a great writer and story teller. Your copy should sing and be so good it makes the News Director weep. We also need to see the ability to effectively own breaking news in any live situation. The job requires a high level of skill in producing video packages and material for air and other platforms not limited to the web and mobile as well as for special programs. Candidate must be available to work any shift assigned including: overnight, morning, dayside or evenings. The applicant must have 3 - 5 years experience as an on air reporter. A college degree is preferred. Strong computer skills are also required.
