CHANTILLY, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man wanted by authorities from Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and Harrison County, Mississippi for reportedly stoling a car and firearms in Virginia has been apprehended on Thursday.

Authorities say 22-year-old Joseph S. Schrotz, who has ties to the Fairfax, Loudoun and the Newport News area of Virginia, was wanted in Mississippi on multiple felony charges, including possession of a stolen firearm and fleeing. Authorities say charges are pending against him in Loudoun County for auto theft and firearms theft.

Authorities say on Wednesday, Schrotz led deputies in Mississippi on a chase after they started pursuing a vehicle reported stolen out of Loudoun County, Va. The chase lasted for 25 miles before Schrotz reportedly fled on foot and got away from deputies, say authorities.

The car Schrotz was driving, a 2009 Dodge Caliber, was reported stolen from Gothic Square in Chantilly on March 26, say authorities. Officers found three firearms -- an AR-15 rifle, a .40 caliber handgun, and a 9mm caliber handgun -- inside the vehicle, according to authorities. Those firearms were reported stolen on March 26th from a vehicle on Ponderosa Drive, say authorities.

Thursday afternoon, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office authorities reported that authorities in Mississippi took Schrotz into cudody during a home burglary in Harrison County.
