(WUSA) -- Marc Leishman is playing in this week's AT&T National at Congressional, and I, for one, am excited.

Just who is Marc Leishman? He's only the PGA Tour's latest first time winner.

Leishman broke through for his first win on the PGA Tour by claiming the Travelers Championship. He didn't win by starting the day in the final pair and cruising along to victory. Leishman didn't win by rallying from a one or two-shot deficit. Marc Leishman won despite starting the day six shots back of the leaders.

Marc Leishman started the day tied for 20th at -6. By the end of the day, he was in first place at -14. Leishman shot a 62 Sunday, and then had to wait over two hours after his round was over before he became the winner.

Brian Davis and Roland Thatcher began the day in the lead at -12. By the end of their rounds, Davis needed an eagle on 18, and Thatcher needed to hole a shot from a greenside bunker for birdie to force a playoff. Neither happened.

Despite Leishman's great round, it wasn't even the best of the day. Hunter Mahan shot a 61 on Sunday. Mahan will participate in the AT&T National, and is someone who I think might win this week.

Leishman also didn't have the shot of the day either. Sunday's best shot belonged to Rory Sabbatini, who holed out his tee shot on the par-3 16th for an ace.

People on twitter have proclaimed the beginning of leishmania.

Time will tell if it will take over Congressional.
