PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) - The American Cancer Society is seeking 200 residents in the Petersburg area to participate in a cancer prevention study.
Participants must be between ages 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer.
The organization hopes to enroll 300,000 participants nationwide.
The Progress-Index reports that enrollment in Petersburg will be held Oct. 3 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church and Oct. 5. at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Organizers are asking residents to register to enroll in advance. Those interested in participating can schedule an enrollment appointment online at cps3petersburg.org.
The CP3-study is part of a series of American Cancer Studies that began in the 1950s.
