WASHINGTON (WUSA9) An Aldi grocery store goof could save you $10 on your next $40 purchase if you can find it, print it, and redeem it by close of business Thursday.

This tip came from a Facebook follower, please tweet @russptacek or like Russ Ptacek on Facebook and let us know whether the coupon worked for you.

"I used mine with no problems," blogged couponer Karen on "I also had one person tell me that they are suppose to accept it even if you show it to them on your phone...though bring in a printed copy just in case."

The coupon originally stated it was only good in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma according to the website

Enterprising couponers noted the url's name was "coupon_4.jpg," prompting a search for others, like 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg.

"Jackpot - coupon_2.jpg turned out to be the exact same coupon, with one key difference: it was "redeemable at all ALDI locations," reported "The coupon was apparently a "hidden" file, that shoppers were not meant to discover. Only the state-specific coupon that was part of the promotion was meant to be valid."

Aldi removed quickly removed both versions of the coupon, but when customers complained, Aldi agreed to honor them for those who had already downloaded them, but you may still be able to use it too.

Many coupon sites have still copies of the coupon posted and the response WUSA9 received from Aldi suggests stores will be accepting those too although an spokeswoman didn't directly answer the question.

"ALDI will be honoring all coupons until tomorrow, Friday, November 15," said Aldi spokeswoman Hannah Dewey. "We are unable to provide a quote beyond what was shared in the statement."
