Washington Capitals Lose to the New York Rangers in Game 7 5-0

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - The New York Rangers dominated Game 7 over the Washington Capitals.

The Rangers beat the Capitals down 5-0, in a weak effort by the home team Caps. 

Right Winger Arron Asham (45) snapped one over the left shoulder of Washington goalie Braden Holtby, to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead at 13:19.

The Rangers added two goals early in the second period to take a 3-0 lead over the capitals.

The Rangers added another two goals in the 3rd period to take a whopping 5-0 lead.

The sixth-seeded Rangers used a stellar performance from goaltender Henrik Lundqvist to survive Game 6 by a 1-0 score on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

The Caps had won all of their games at home in the series, and the Rangers had done the same until Monday night. 

The Rangers move on to play the Boston Bruins in the second round of the Playoffs.
