Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Suzann Pettersen bounced back from an early
double-bogey with eight birdies in an 11-hole span from the third on Sunday
and that helped her rally to win the Safeway Classic.
Pettersen, who also won this title in 2011, ended the tournament at Columbia
Edgewater Country Club at 20-under-par 268 after closing with a 5-under 67.
Stacy Lewis closed with a 4-under 68 to take second place at minus-18. Her
Solheim Cup teammate Lizette Salas carded a 3-under 69 in the final round to
grab third place at 17-under-par 271.
Cristie Kerr shot 69 for the second straight day to take fourth at minus-16.
Caroline Masson was one stroke back after a final-round 70.
Sandra Gal (69) and Gerina Piller (66) shared sixth place at 14-under 274,
while Karrie Webb took eighth at minus-13.
Yani Tseng led entering the final round, and the former world No. 1 was
looking for her first title since March 2012. She struggled to a 6-over 78
that dropped her into a share of ninth at 12-under-par 276.
