Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Rod Rucker scored 17 points to lead the UAB
Blazers to a 70-63 win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in a Conference USA
battle at the Reynolds Center.
Rucker also had a game-high eight turnovers in the contest but it didn't
stop UAB (10-13, 2-6, C-USA) from picking up its second conference victory.
Quincy Taylor added 14 points and six assists and Terence Jones had 13 points
off the bench.
Rashad Ray had 17 points, Pat Swilling Jr. added 11 and Shaquille Harrison
netted 10 for Tulsa (12-11, 4-5) which has lost four of its last five.
UAB dominated the first half by shooting 60.7 percent from the field,
including 7-of-13 from beyond the arc, to take a 43-31 lead at the break.
Tulsa shot 42.9 percent in the first 20 minutes.
After halftime UAB cooled to 43.8 percent shooting but it was enough to hold
off the Golden Hurricane which hit just 35.5 percent from the field and was
outscored 11-8 from the free-throw line.
Tulsa lost despite a 22-11 edge in points off turnovers.
