WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Offering inner city kids a way out of the cycle of poverty and violence is a daunting task that takes money and mentoring.

This weekend Capital Partners for Education is hosting its Fourth Semi-Annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Proceeds will help the organization offer mentoring and scholarship programs to kids in our community.

Romone Penny, CEO of the Pursuit Sports Group, talked to us about the event.

The tournament is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Georgetown Day School. Registration is $45.
