FALLS CHURCH, Va. (WUSA9) -- The City of Falls Church Police Department is investigating two robberies that took place over the weekend, police say.
According to police, the victim of the first assault sustained a broken nose and jaw during a struggle with two suspects who tried to take the victim's backpack on the 1100 block of S. Washington Street.
The first suspect is described as "a white male in his late 20s, with freckles and brownish-red wavy hair that was approximately 4 inches in length. He was wearing a white t-shirt and shorts or pants of an unknown color," police said in a press release.
The second suspect is described as "a black male in his 20s, bald, with a muscular build of about 200 pounds, and wearing a dark colored t-shirt and khaki shorts," the release stated.
On Sunday, another incident took place on the 400 block of E. Broad Street at about 11:13 p.m.
Police say the victim was seated on a wall next to his motorcycle when two suspects sharing a motorized bicycle approached the victim and knocked him off the wall.
The suspects tried to start the victim's motorcycle but were unsuccessful so they took off with his helmet and shirt, police said.
Police describe the suspect of the second robbery and assault as "a black male, roughly 20-25 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, and approximately 170 pounds with a thin build. He was clean shaven with long hair down to his shoulders."
The second suspect is a "Hispanic male, between 20 and 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a skinny build of about 160 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt and white motorcycle helmet," police said.
