STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office authorities say at approximately 5 a.m. Tuesday, a sinkhole was reported at S. Buckingham Rd. and E. Tazewell Rd. in Sterling.
The sinkhole may have been caused by a broken water main, say authorities.
The Virginia Department of Transportation and the water utility company were notified, and Loudoun County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management Department also responded to the scene, according to authorities.
Authorities expect the road to be closed for a while. Please seek alternate routes.
