LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- A spokesperson with the Loudoun County Fire Department says firefighters responded to a house fire in the 18000 block of Castleguard Court in Leesburg Thursday.
"The residents, two adults and three children, have been displaced as a result of the fire. The family, along with their four canines, is being assisted by the American Red Cross. There were minor damages to two homes immediately adjacent to the fire however these occupants were not displaced," Loudoun County Fire officials said in a news release.
Five firefighters were treated on scene for heat emergencies and minor injuries, four of which were transported to Lansdowne Hospital for further evaluation, officials said.
The Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office is on scene conducting their investigation the house is a total loss.
The fire reportedly started in the rear of the home and Loudoun Fire reports no injuries at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
