Body Found Near Fire In Fairfax County

FAIR OAKS, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax County fire officials say firefighters found a body on Sunday afternoon while fghting a fire in the Fair Oaks area.

According to officials, firefighters responded to an outside fire at approximately 12:05 p.m. at Lee-Jackson Memorial Highway and the Fairfax County Parkway in the Fair Oaks area of Fairfax County.

Firefighters discovered the body of a man after putting out the fire in grass, brush, and several trees near the eastbound ramp of Lee-Jackson Highway to the Fairfax County Parkway, say officials.

Fire investigators and police are  investigating the incident.

The man has not yet been identified, say officials.  The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death after an autopsy.
