BEDFORD, Va. (AP) -- A Bedford County man will spend 43 years in prison for shooting his romantic rival nine times, castrating him and setting his home on fire.
Charles Glover pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder, arson and firearm charges and was sentenced in Bedford County Circuit Court.
The Roanoke Times reports that the 44-year-old Glover confessed to police that he'd attacked Reginald Bowles last April because he believed Bowles was having an affair with his wife.
Bedford County Commonwealth's Attorney Randy Krantz has said Glover had told others he was going to kill Bowles. The two men had previously clashed on a public road and Bowles had filed an emergency protective order against Glover.
Glover also faces abduction, burglary, firearm and violating a protective order charges in Roanoke County.
