SPRINGFIELD, Va. (WUSA9) -- A look at the latest press release from Fairfax County police shows that the suspected serial groper in the Springfield area may have attacked three times this week.
On February 26 at 6:30 p.m. on Amherst Avenue near Cumberland Avenue, police say a woman was jogging when a man reportedly approached her from behind and fondled her. Police say she screamed and he ran away.
Two days later at 5 p.m., police believe the same man may have approached a woman walking in the 5900 block of Dinwiddie Street then grabbed her and fled.
Then, on Friday at 11:45 a.m., police say a woman reported that she was walking on Floyd Avenue near Hanover Street when she was grabbed. When the woman screamed, he fled.
Police say the suspect description in all three cases is similar to the groper description in previous incidents. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 5'6" and 5'8" with facial hair, a baseball cap and blue jeans.
If all of the incidents were committed by the same man, then police say he has committed 21 assaults.
