FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- Reston Police say a 31-year-old woman was assaulted by a male on Tuesday while she was going for a walk.
At about 7 p.m. the victim entered the W and OD Trail off of Reston Avenue, near the overpass for Herndon Parkway when she noticed a man following her, police said.
Soon after, she was dragged off the path and into the wooded area where she began struggling with the attacker. The suspect eventually fled north onto a gravel horse trail, police said. The victim did not need medical attention.
Police describe the man as a "heavy set," about 25-year-old, clean shaven with short black hair. He was last seen wearing glasses, dark jacket and dark jeans.
