FALLS CHURCH, Va. (WUSA) -- Falls Church police say that a dog that bit an adult last Friday at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School's playground probably doesn't have rabies.
The dog was reportedly running loose on the playground before it bit the person.
They say the pit bull had its rabies inoculations. The dog is in quarantine to be monitored for 10 days according to protocol, say police.
The person who was bitten on the leg did have rabies shots but stopped getting them when the dog was found, according to police.
Police say the owner of the dog was visiting the city and charges are pending against him or her.
