REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT (WUSA) -- Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is advising people using Reagan National Airport on Tuesday to arrive 2 to 4 hours before their flights. Photos from the security lines there showed why.
Security lines were very long for many of the gates. About 7 a.m., wait times were estimated at 15 minutes or less but about two hours later the estimated wait time was about 25 minutes, according to MWAA. Others at the airport say they have waited longer.
Shortly after 10 a.m. MWAA tweeted: "Minimal waits now at #IAD Dulles ticket counters and security lines. Flights operating normally #inaug2013"
In addition to arriving early, MWAA recommends printing your boarding pass and paying for your checked bags online before coming to the airport.
We also suggest you bring your patience.
