Firefighter and resident were injured in a fire in Fairfax Va.

FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- Fairfax County Fire Department says two people were injured in a fire that broke out in the Fairview area of Fairfax.    

On Saturday, at approximately 1:15 p.m. the Fairfax Fire Department responded to the townhouse fire at 5817 Oak Bucket Court. When they arrived, fire was coming from the front of the middle unit of the townhouse and was rapidly spreading to the second and third floors of the three-story home, and moving towards the attic. 

Firefighters say they were able to bring the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes, and kept it contained. The damage is estimated at $95,000.   

One resident was in the home and received a non-life threatening injury and was treated by paramedics at the scene. A  firefighter was also received a non-life threatening injury and was transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

The occupant has been removed from the townhouse and will be assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
