WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) -- Prince William County Police are looking for the driver or truck involved in a fatal hit and run on Bayside Ave in Woodbridge. The truck hit a man who had been shot and ran down the road.

Police say a 22-year-old man was involved in a fight with another man on Oct. 23 shortly before 7 p.m. at the Marumsco Plaza (13989 Jefferson Davis Hwy). The two were fighting in the parking lot when the other man fired a handgun at the victim, hitting him in the upper body. The shooting victim then fled, and started running on Bayside Avenue. He crossed paths with a truck and was struck.

The driver left the scene.

Police found the man accused of the shooting and took him into custody. They say the driver of the truck in the hit and run was not involved in the shooting. They have a vehicle lookout for a late model gray Ford pickup truck with an extended cab and tinted windows. Police believe the truck has minimal damage from the center to the front left driver side bumper.

The victim was flown to an area hospital with life threatening injuries, and on Nov. 5, he died from his injuries, say police.
