Angelica C. Valencia of Doswell, Va., charged with reckless driving in death of State Trooper Andrew D. Fox

HANOVER COUNTY,  Va. (WUSA) -   A Hanover County woman has been charged in the death last month of a state trooper, according to Virginia State Police..

Angelica C. Valencia, 27, of Doswell, Va., has been charged with one count of reckless driving. On Oct. 5, she was driving the 1992 Jeep Cherokee that struck and killed Trooper Andrew D. Fox, who was directing traffic on Route 30 at Theme Park Way in Hanover County.

The Jeep was traveling east on Route 30 through the intersection when it hit Fox. Troopers and several bystanders helped to lift the SUV off Fox, and two troopers provided first aid and administered CPR, police said.

Fox, 27, was taken to VCU Medical Center in Richmond, where he died of his injuries.

Valencia and her juvenile passenger were not  injured in the crash. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
