James Maurice Samuels Arrested In DC For Stealing Generator From Home Depot In Fairfax, Va.

FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- A man accused of stealing a generator from a Home Depot in Fairfax is now charged with grand larceny.

Fairfax police say that 48-year-old James Maurice Samuels was spotted by an employee on Oct. 17 putting a generator in his cart then leaving the store in the 3200 block of Old Lee Highway without paying for it. Samuels then reportedly put the generator in his car and left. 

During the investigation, Samuels was identified as the suspect and later arrested by D.C. police, who located him in conjunction with another investigation, say Fairfax police.He was held at the D.C. jail until Nov. 7, when he was taken to the Fairfax Adult Detention Center.

Samuels was ordered held on $5,000 bond.
