Cynthia Eileen McFarland, charged with two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer in Prince William County
WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) -- A Woodbridge woman is charged with two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer after allegedly trying to attack two officers with a pair of scissors.
Prince William County police say officers went to the home of 47-year-old Cynthia Eileen McFarland after her neighbor reported hearing her yelling in the 1700 block of Capri Lane on Saturday afternoon. When officers arrived, family members told the officers that McFarland was out of control and may have a knife.
Officers found McFarland in the home and then, according to police, she approached the officers with a pair of scissors raised in her hand. There was a struggle between McFarland and the officers, but McFarland was ultimately arrested without further incident.
McFarland is being held in jail without bond. She is set to appear in court on Dec. 17.
