Virginia State Trooper F.A. Richens injured in collision with Corvette in Fairfax, Va., Monday night

FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -  A state trooper traveling on the eastbound I-66 ramp was injured when a Corvette coming through the ram lost control and struck the trooper's car on the driver's side, according to Virginia State Police.

Trooper F.A. Richens was driving to southbound 286 at 6:12 p.m. when a 2007 Corvett traveling through the ramp lost control and spun around. The car t-boned the trooper's car, and its impact spun the patrol car off the road. Richens was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital for minor injuries.

The Corvette driver, a male resident of Burke, Va., was not injured in the crash. Charges are pending as the cause of the collision is under investigation, according to state police.
