WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Detectives confirm locating 5-year-old Cameron Serafin and his mother at the McCarran International Airport, officials said.
On Wednesday, after receiving a tip, detectives observed surveillance video and were able to determine the identity of the missing people. They were able to locate them and are holding the mother as a fugitive from justice.
In a press release by the Fairfax County Dept. it says, "Cameron is safe and in good condition. His mother is being held as a fugitive from justice and will await extradition back to Virginia. Cameron's father is already making plans to travel to Las Vegas to be reunited with his son."
Rebecca Serafin, who may also be known as Rebecca Love, was supposed to return Cameron to his father before the disappearance, say police. Rebecca Serafin altered Cameron's and her own appearance to try to avoid being found. Police had also found Serafin's car and other items.
