BOSTON (WUSA9) -- Race participants and others gathered at Boylston Street Tuesday morning to reflect on the scene where explosions rocked the Boston Marathon less than 24 hours earlier.
People laid flowers, cried, and peered down the shut down street.
"It's horrific," Carol Flaherty of Buffalo, who had ran in yesterday's race, said fighting back tears. One woman squatted in front of a set of flowers and wiped away tears in silence.
"It's kind of eerie to think that (I was here) half an hour before the explosions," a runner from Texas said as he pointed past the police barriers down the street.
