VATICAN CITY (WUSA9) -- In Rome on Wednesday, former Chicago Bulls star Dennis Rodman said he was confident the next pope will be African-American.
Rodman, wearing a t-shirt for Irish betting firm Paddy Power and a neon floral jacket, talked to WUSA 9's Bruce Johnson. Rodman was reportedly visiting Rome to help Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana become the first black pope. "Right now he's 3 to 1," Rodman told Bruce.
He also told Bruce that he was there on a business venture and had just finished taping a commercial featuring Rodman as a pope in a "pope-mobile."
"I'll be riding around here in a pope-mobile later on," Rodman told Bruce, gesturing to the square. "And, uh, just to let people know that the next pope is going to be black."
