Embassy: Japan Giving $5 Million To US For 'Tremendous Support' After Quake

(WUSA) -- Friday, Japan's Prime Minister announced the Japanese government decided to give $5 million to the United States government "in order to demonstrate goodwill of the Japanese people and government with respect to tsunami debris driving from the Earthquake," according to a release from the Embassy of Japan.

The prime minister made the announcement during a courtesy call from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to the embassy.
