(WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police officials say the department iis "escalating resources" for Saturday's Glo Run at the National Harbor "out of an abundance of caution."

Police say they do not know of any threats in connection with the event.

Officials say police officers will conduct strict backpack and bag inspections. Explosive detection K-9s will also be at the event.

On Thursday, authorities said the 29th annual George Washington Parkway Classic would also have "enhanced security procedures." Participants were told they could not do any bib swapping or any other unauthorized transfer of bibs. Anyone found swapping would be banned from any Pacers races. Buses will have police protection and only registered runners will be allowed on buses.

Any vehicles parked north of King and South of Pendleton on Union Street or where posted on Franklin Street will be ticked and towed. Also no cars may be parked at Mount Vernon.

Runners will have to use their race issued clear plastic bag for bag check. No backpacks and duffle bags will not be allowed, and all bags could be searched by security officials.
