(WUSA9) -- A 16-year-old Henry Lackey High School student is in trouble after some bags of suspected marijuana and an ecstasy pill were found on a school bus, say police.

According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday morning a school bus driver had just dropped off students at Henry Lackey High School when he noticed a film canister on the seat of the bus. When he looked inside the canister, he found small bags of suspected marijuana and an ecstasy pill, says police.

School administrators and the school resource officer were notified and they learned the canister belonged to a student. Police say the student was found with a similar film canister containing a small amount of marijuana on him.

The teen was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, say police.
